Hey, so I'm currently an undecided business student (freshman).

My college offers these business degrees

Accounting
ISOM (information systems operations management, I suppose this is the same as MIS)
Finance
Marketing
Management

I was considering Accounting and ISOM or Accounting and Finance, but do you think there are any better combos?

Thanks! And if it helps, I'm minoring in Information Technology and possibly also Psychology.

Personally, I’d avoid these very hip and up-to-the minute major titles. They seem gimmicky. Go for a solid traditional major. Employers know where you both stand.

Accounting and finance would be great. I’d replace the ISOM with Management. It would be great if you were aiming for consulting.

My career counselor told me that Accounting and Finance are helpful. I personally chose to do Accounting and English because I liked that English was so completely different, but I dunno if that’s a good idea career-wise, haha.

I think accounting and marketing would be fun but probably the best ones are compliments like accounting and management or as you said accounting and finance.

Accounting and MIS can very VERY useful if you would like to go into IT auditing. It would probably prove useful in the internal audit function as well.

Accounting and finance are a good combo, but there is some overlap.

I would choose one of those two if you’re interested in double majoring in two business disciplines. You may want to drop the minor in IT if you choose this ISOM though. I’d also check the coursework in that major to make sure it is similar to MIS.
