Possible essay topic- Quakerism

I am having difficulty thinking of what I'll write for an essay when I start applying to colleges. So far, the only developed idea I have been able to come up with is my exploring the faith of the Society of Friends, commonly known as Quakerism, especially liberal Quakerism.

I don't think think that many people would find it offensive. It is a faith that is very tolerant of other faiths, and the type that I will be describing is very, very open-minded.

Is this an acceptable topic? Some of the schools I'm applying to are Catholic. Should I have a different essay for those schools?

I don’t think it’s offensive, but are you Quaker? How extensive was your “exploring”?

The question is how much the essay will reveal about you. I’m not sure about the relationship between Catholicism and Quakerism. xP

Exactly. 10char

Thank you so much for your response! I truly appreciate it!

I’m not a Quaker (a Friend) yet, though I’m considering joining eventually. I’ve been looking into the beliefs for a few years now, and have recently started attending meetings.

Okay, just be sure to focus on the impact Quakerism has on you and don’t get too caught up in the society itself.

I don’t think someone’s faith is offensive unless they’re, I don’t know, a sadist or something.

Thank you very much for the advice.
