Possible for lower GPA/high SAT student to get in with merit aid?

My son is a prototypical “bright slacker”. He’s in a competitive math/science magnet program, and has a GPA of just under 3.4, with 3 D’s (for the semester, not grading period). His math grades are excellent. His SAT M+CR is 1460. Should he bother to apply? His preference is an urban campus.

They accept the Common Application and it’s free to apply. Go for it.

Hey! You should go for it. I was pretty much the same. AS long as your essay is great, you should get in  They weigh the scores and the essays around the same

Also show interest to CWRU as they value that.
