Possible rescind from UCSD

I am currently in a dilemma right now...my provisions state that I need 90 quarter units and need to maintain a 2.5 gpa overall -- or else I am subject to immediate cancellation of my application.

I am currently at 89 units and might not meet 2.5 gpa provisional mark this quarter.

i can make one class NP, which will guarantee that I am above 2.5 but will put me at 85 units.

My question is: should I stay at 89 units with the risk of missing the gpa mark or take 85 units and get above 2.5 for sure?

By taking 85 units and getting above 2.5 - I will at least hit one provision

By having 89 units, I risk not getting the 2.5 and might miss both provisions, but only by a little.

You admission will probably be rescinded just on the fact that you only have 89 units completed. That is the popular belief on this board.

Deja vu anyone?

Actually, the admissions counselor said he wouldn't worry too much about the 89 units. I have a friend last year that got in with 89 units. Right now I'm just trying to decide which method would be best for me.

have you tried other UC's?

UC Irvine doesn't mind if the student has less than 90 units, because they say UC to UC transfer shouldn't really matter, but UCSD has a more strict policy.

sorry but u hav a good chance of getting rescind....

bumppppppp

i would call and ask to see if 85 units is acceptable, if it is, then make the move. If it isnt, then dont, you dont know for sure of whether you have a gpa lower than a 2.5 yet.

They'll probably recsind you for having only 85 units. And thats my guess of what they'll tell you. Rules are rules.

Your cutting it really close.....
