Possible Rescind?

I recently got into UC Davis as a transfer student, and as a transfer student, my conditions of admissions are that I maintain a 2.8 GPA or above and pass my UC-transferable math and writing courses with a C or better. I’m not too worried about my grade in writing class, but I found out that I have a D in my math statistics course. The reason I have a D is because I did not do well on the final. Before the final, I had a C+ average in the course, but because I failed the final, my grade dropped down to 65%. If I had done better on the final, I probably would have either maintained my C+ average or gotten a B in the class.

I am planning on retaking that statistics course again in the summer for a passing grade, but I don’t know if they’ll still keep my application. Does anyone know if admitted transfer students who retake a required course in the summer before transferring still have their applications kept, or are their admissions rescinded when they’ve shown that they’ve not been able to pass a required course by the end of Spring semester?

You should be OK… read the article below… it’s from UC Davis Magazine… gives great insight into the rescind process. You need to notify Davis right away so they can work with you. Don’t delay.

okay, just submitted my math grade on the Report Changes form as soon as my grade was posted and explained why I got a D and my plans for retaking it in summer. I hope to hear back from them in 7-10 days.

I got the phone call. I got rescinded. Cynthia Goldberg from Admissions told me that in the past, students who didn’t pass a required course were able to retake the course in the summer and still get accepted, but it wasn’t an option this year. Looks like I’ll have to wait until 2012.

Bummer. Sorry to hear.

@sweetlacecharm, im really sorry to hear that. best of luck in the application process next year, i really hope things work out for you.
