So, I was admitted Early Action to BC but am now facing a dilemma, any insight, feedback or previous experience with a similar situation would be much appreciated

My current senior courseload is
AP Calc AB
AP Spanish Lang
AP English Lang
AP Macro
AP Gov
Physics H

I just received my first semester grades and did worse than I usually do: I got 3 A’s, 2 B’s and 1 C+ in AP Spanish

Now, I am considering dropping AP Spanish for second semester as it moves at much too quick a pace for me

But, I am very worried about the possibilty of getting rescinded. My guidance counselor advised me to call the admissions office before dropping an AP. But should I try to track down the specific admission counselor for my area and explain the circumstance? I’m not sure who to reach out to in order to decide what my next best steps are. Help!!

I highly doubt a C+ will cause them to rescind the offer. My son also was accepted EA to BC- he got a C+ in his IB English class- the teacher has somewhat of a God complex and is very mean. He is not worried at all. Good luck to you.

Dear vhmqqja : Overall, your latest grades will not cause you a problem - the non-A grades however are a reminder to keep up your academic training and drive to raise those grades.

My recommendation is to NOT drop Spanish AP and consider taking the SAT II in Spanish - remember that a grade of 550 or better will eliminate the foreign language requirement from your Boston College academic core which will free up as many as four (more likely two in your case) class choices during your undergraduate career.
