Because no scholarship probably unfortunatly means I cant afford attending.

ANYONE knows?

If you read your acceptance letter, you'd notice it said, "In the next several days, you will receive information detailing forthcoming steps in the enrollment process."

It's coming.

"White Jewish Male
Miwaukee, WI
GPA: about a 3.4/4 unweighted
Class rank: top 30% (Very competitive school)
ACT: 27 (Math-30, Reading-29, Science-26, English-23, writing-7)"

What kind of scholarship do you expect with that set of stats?

Considering you're out of state, without overly-impressive stats, you'll likely not pick up anything in terms of merit scholarships. Congrats on getting in, though.

National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents

Award amount
$7,200 ($28,800 four–year value)

Criteria

Ohio State is committed to enrolling a diverse and talented student
population. The National Buckeye Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to non-Ohio students required to pay the out-of-state surcharge who are admitted to the Columbus campus for autumn quarter. Those considered have ACT composite scores of 27 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1220 or higher.

yea I guess im having false hopes. I wasnt expecting a half ride or anything but at least something would be nice. Do you guys know how generous OSU is with need based aid?. Because my family is considered a low income family (estimated EFC around $2000) and I know I am perosonally not willing to take more than 40k in loans (over the four undergrad years) which means OSU is somehow gonna have to give me enough grants or need based scholarships or something to bring the yearly overall cost (including tuition, fees, R&B etc.) to around 15k if not less. Any chance of that happening? or is OSU not well known for being generous?

Its a school Id love to go to but if I dont get enough financial assistance than there is no way I can go.

wow Barno can I have the link for that?
Is that the only thing they look at? ACT? no GPA?
Do I need to apply for this scholarship seperatly or am I automatically considered?

My understanding is that most OSU scholarships are awarded automatically. There are a few, like the Morrill for minority students, that require an application, but for merit scholarships and the Buckeye Plus there is no additional application necessary. Students eligible for the Maximus scholarship competition are invited to come to Columbus and compete for merit scholarships in the spring.

Good Luck!

well that sure gives me some sense of hope, THANKS!

You may also qualify for the Trustees scholarship.

Award amount
$1,050 ($4,200 four-year value)

Criteria
The Trustees Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to admitted Columbus campus students; those considered rank in the top 20 percent of their graduating classes and have ACT composite scores of 27 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1220 or higher.

You said your class rank is top 30%, but if your school is very competitive, I've heard that they take that into consideration for adjusting class rank.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to send out these scholarship offers? Do they come seperatly (each scholarship)?

Should I have applied for the morrill scholars program even tho im not a minority?
is it too late to apply now?

I believe that the Morrill scholarship deadline has passed. As far as award dates, I posted this on another thread, but I will put it here too:

You are going to be waiting a while. Financial awards are not made until spring - last year the award letters came out the first week of April. The Maximus competition is held in the spring and Maximus decisions come out in March. FAFSA forms are not even due until February, I think. So I wouldn't expect anything official about financial aid or merit scholarships until April 1st. Acceptance fees are then due by May 1st.

Do you get any additional scholarships if you get into a scholars program? If so how much are they?

When I received the "you're admitted" phone call form a student, he said that I would get scholarship notification starting in mid January.
