Possible state to state move question

DD (class of 2017) scored a 218 in NC, which preliminarily looks like a score high enough for NMSF. Hubby is likely being transferred which means moving to GA for her senior year. Note, we also moved this past summer from MN (hubby moved prior September but we stayed until summer so other DD could finish high school).

Now that you have WAY more info than you probably needed, on to my question. How will moving to another state summer after Junior year affect NMSF and NMF status? Anyone have experience with this?

@disshar Someone in a different forum wrote that when they contacted NMC with a similar question they were told that what mattered was which state the student was in when he/she took the test. Sounds as if your D would be counted as one of the NC semifinalists if the score turns out to be high enough for the NC cutoff, no matter which state you happened to be living in when the announcements are sent out. Of course, you would need more information on how to follow through with the process of her applying for finalist, etc.

@BunnyBlue thanks so much for the reply! That’s what we are hoping. I think I might give them a call just to be sure but it’s always good to ask on CC

based on the state where you took the test,.

That is what NMSC said when I called, though the lady had to put me on hold to confirm.
