<p>I was thinking about taking a year off after I grad HS and become a ski bum for the winter and go to college during the following summer. </p>
<p>Would it be possible to apply ED somewhere my senior year, get accepted and defer for a year? Or does this only happen RD?</p>

<p>I think as long as you don't earn credits from any other academic institution they will let u defer for up to a year. But, it never hurts to call or email and be sure.</p>
<p>p.s. do u mean during the following spring? I don't think u can enroll during the summer.</p>

<p>Many schools allow you to defer. Check their policies. It is better to apply to schools as a senior and then take a year off, as opposed to waiting a year to apply - especially if you just plan on bumming around.</p>
