During my junior year, I got a 3 on my AP Lit. test and that sucked. This year though, I'm taking AP language and I really need a 5. The m/c is my strong suit (I get 1-2 problems for each passage wrong) but my essays are my weaknesses. Is there any way to maximize my ap score from now to the test?

I am in AP English Lit this year and took AP English Lang last year and scored a 5 on the exam. From personal experience in both classes, I believe the English Language class and therefore exam is easier simply because rhetoric is easier to interpret than fiction and poetry.

If you truly want to maximize your score, I suggest working on your timing above all else. I can tell you that writing three comprehensive essays in two hours can be quite difficult, which you might already know from your own experience last year. To work on your timing, practice brainstorming ideas for your essays and creating an outline as fast as possible, since the actual writing of the essay becomes fairly easy after that.
