Possible to get a GPA over 5.0?

I was trying to figure out what is the highest GPA possible. I was under the assumption that it was not possible to get a GPA over a 5.0 (or 4.9999....). At my school we weight honors/ap classes 0.17. Maybe I messed up my math and you actually cant get a GPA over a 5.0.

I believe it’s possible, but it depends on your school weighing policy At my school, it’s impossible. From my friend, he told me that he has a neighbor who had a 5.17 GPA. I was really skeptical when he told me.

Depends on the school the highest available at my school is a 4.75 but only a 4.5 is possible due to some classes (gym, electives, etc.) not being weighted (.5 weight). Some schools offer up to a 5.5 and higher. Cough Conestoga cough, grade inflators.

I heard some schools use a 6 point system o.o

my school does the 6 point system. AP classes 6 pts(A), honors 5pts(A), regular 4pts(A). I have nearly a 4.8 gpa and i’ve only taken two ap classes and majority honors.

My weighted GPA is like a 5.7 or something? Maybe 5.8. I have no idea verily. But it’s way over 5.0. 6.0 system ftw.

My school offers a 6.0 GPA for AP. I did all the APs and honors available (but that doesn’t really mean I aced them all) and got GPA of 5.4 or 5.5 and something like that.
