<p>Online Masters to Brick and Mortar PhD, is it possible?
Is it difficult to get into a traditional brick and mortar University like University of Miami or University of Florida for a Phd after obtaining an online Masters degree from a for-profit University like Walden University or University of Phoenix?</p>
<p>The Masters would be in Psychology.</p>
<p>there have been a lot of articles and recent discussion within academia about the great inadequacies and illegitimacy of degrees from online universities and for-profit universities. unfortunately, i don’t think any competent university even consider online degrees having any merit. so, i suppose it’s like not having a master degree at all. i don’t know whether it would hurt your application or not.</p>

<p>rupert421 is giving you options not chances, the latter being what i am trying to convey. you can apply to PhD programs like any other person and can use your online graduate degree to fulfill requirements, if the institution allows it. you will simply have lower chances than applicants with brick-and-mortar degrees or online degrees from non-profit universities.</p>
