Possible to get into USC without a 30+ ACT?

Just curious if there is a high chance of being accepted if I have a 29 ACT and a 3.9 UW GPA. I have a lot of ec and strong essays. I just don’t know where I stand because so many students that are accepted have 34, 35, and 36 on their ACT.

If you look at the Class of 2018 profile, the middle 50 range for ACT of admitted students was 30-34, so 75% of admits got 30 or higher. The enrolled number was 29-33, but that probably includes athletes and other special talents. So is it impossible? No. If you have a lot of other things going for you, you still have a chance, but you are starting at a disadvantage b/c other kids just have the stats. But the enrolled stats do infer that 37% of the freshman class has 29 or lower, so it’s a reach for you but not out of the ballpark. Of course, those stats are qualified by the # kids who submitted ACT vs SAT so it may not be proportionally representative of the entire class.

Don’t get pysched out by what people post and reality. A lot of people doing chance me threads are just looking for people to gush all over their scores  In terms of composite ACT, only the top 1% nationally score 33 or higher, top 2% score a 32, 3% score a 31, 5% score a 30 and a 29 is the top 7%. A score of 28 rounds out the top 10% of scores nationally. Not all those 1% types go to USC, they will select other schools as well. So while the higher the test score the better, fortunately USC looks at the whole you. But no one on here can say you have a high chance, because we aren’t sitting at the USC admissions table looking at the whole pot of applicants, please see the stickied thread on this forum about chances for admission.
