If I had a 4.0/3.95 every semester from Freshman-Junior years and then get a 3.5 during my senior year, will UW take back admissions? Or do they only do that if someone gets a D or all Cs or something?

They will not rescind you for that. Now, if you drop below 3.0, you should be worried. They will rescind you if you get Cs and Ds.

@icandividebyzero you’ve been in the Penn forum over the past month right? It sucks not getting in ED.

And also… could I get rescinded if I have a 4.0 currently and I get 1 or 2 Cs during both semesters senior year? Hypothetically (I hope), what do you think would be the bare minimum grades one could get senior year and avoid getting rescinded? Straight Cs, straight Bs and one D or something similar?

Yeah I was rejected from M&T AND Wharton ED…kinda sucks haha. But I expected it because of my 2070 SAT and (abysmal) 670 Math II score.

Straight Cs would most likely result in being rescinded. Straight Bs and one D would be okay, but maybe get one or two As instead of all Bs so there isn’t as much risk. I would go for straight Bs (maybe one C) and maybe one A. That might be the minimum. In terms of overall GPA, 3.0 is the lowest I would go. Actually, that is the lowest I WILL go (at least for 2nd semester…haha).

What are your other grades? If you have two or three As, one or two Bs, and one or two Cs, you will probably be okay. Is there a reason for the sudden drop other than senioritis? lol

I had a 1.7 my senior year of high school and they didn’t rescind me, they did send me a letter telling me how dissapointed they were in me though and that I better step up my game at UW lol

@icandividebyzero your last example is pretty much exactly where I’m at and yes there is a reason, all APs senior year doesn’t work very well. I’m hoping to pull myself up to a point where I can still apply to some lower-tier ivies but if not, then its UW. What are your plans?

@mooper is this a joke or are you serious? you should stay around on CC and help out those kids who might get rescinded in the future by giving them written proof or something hahaha.

If I am rejected from Swarthmore, UChicago, CMU, NYU, USC, and WashU, I will go to UW. I really don’t want to go to UW but it is a last resort, ya know? Thankfully, I was able to take the Dec. SAT to boost my SAT to hopefully 2200+ (highest practice test score was 2270) so my chances will improve. What is your prospective major?

And mooper, you are one lucky man (woman?). Hahaha you are quite the anomaly.
