Has anyone here achieved gaining 7 more points on the ACT/300 points on the SAT after intense studying. Just took my first practice SAT/ACT this weekend(no prior studying just wanted to see what my base knowledge would get me) and I will be taking them in the may/apr and again my senior year. I got 1200 on Sat/ 26 on ACT ( way harder than expected lol) Has anyone here raised their points a lot after studying a bunch??
I started with a 1010 (PSAT 10) and now have a 1400 superscore. Yes, it is possible. You have to focus on what you’re weak on consistently.
I’m sure it’s possible, but I think it is very unlikely.
I would suggest a prep class to at least teach you how to take tests, as well as some prep books and taking lots and lots of practice tests. It’s how quickly you can go through them, so that 1) you finish the test and 2) may have time to go back to check your work or to the ones you skipped. Maybe you need to pick the one test you like/did the best on and focus on that. They are very different tests, as you know. D preferred the ACT over the SAT, so focused on that.
You can increase your score with practice, seven points could be a reach, but put the time in and see. There is the Red Book which has practice ACT tests. Take the tests under similar conditions and then go back and see what you got wrong, and also why. If you are having difficulty with the why, the Black Book that goes along with the Red Book may help. My daughter used both and increased her score by four points in a relatively short amount of time. If you really want a jump of seven points and have the money, a tutor may be the best way to go.
