D turned in an app to UNC-Chapel Hill tonight just under the midnight deadline. But she and I are both wondering how realistic it is for OOS students....looking at the stats, she seems right where they want her to be....but that includes the 50%-plus of NC students and my guess is that they have, in general, lower stats than the 20% from OOS. Am i accurate on this? And have any of you come across stats pulled out only for this group?

As a word of caution when looking at the raw numbers, the OSS population is small (max 18% of the incoming first year class) and it also contains a sizable percentage of students with non academic hooks that helped with admissions. For example, lots of our recruited athletes are OSS (some teams in excess of +90% OSS). The general view is that without a hook, OSS tend to be on the higher end of the academic range.
