Title is pretty self explanatory, thinking about doing this and wondering if anyone else has experience with it.

Not usually, but you would have to check each school’s website to see if they allow it.

My roommate last year did that. Oberlin to Smith. I wouldn’t suggest going into a school with the attitude that you are going to transfer out as soon as possible though. With that attitude you will probably not enjoy it and end up transferring, whereas if you go in with an open mind, you never know, you might actually like it.

Depends on the school to which you want to transfer. Not all will accept mid year transfers. My D transferred after her freshman year. Of the three LACs she was considering, only one took mid year transfers (and the timing would have been tight). Keep in mind that even if you transfer for sophomore year, you may need to get your transfer application in by February or March, depending on the schools involved.

If you tell what school you’re looking at transferring to, we could probably give you a more definite answer.

Otherwise, just check their collegeboard page. It’ll tell under admissions.

Transferring to U Mich, thanks.
