Possible to transfer after being rejected as a first year undergraduate?

Does Brown accept transfers who were initially rejected as a first year undergraduate? Does anyone know if this has happened before?

i believe it has happened before. i know the admissions officer from the long island area, i was at an information session and she told this story about a “girl” who got denied i think, maybe waitlisted, but i know she definitely didnt go. she was devastated. but she transfered in after a year at a state school.

Ah, thank you j0em4d! Congrats on your acceptance to Brown, btw.

Thank you and good luck. I have heard that the transfer applicant pool is sometimes even tougher than freshman admissions. but its worth a shot.

I know of three people who successfully transferred to Brown from NYU (1) and Georgetown (2) (although they all attend Penn now).

But the point is, yes; it’s eminently doable.

^I think that’s more of a testiment to those three people rather than Brown considering each of them transferred twice…

I applied twice as a freshman and was rejected, then waitlisted
I was accepted as a transfer.
So yes.
