Hey
I'm currently a senior at a high school and my grades aren't too hot so I'm considering a cc.
I was wondering if it's possible to get all the prerequisites and units done in one year. How hard is it for people who wanna major in civil engineering and business?
And how many semesters or quarters are there for uc's?

It’s possible (take 12 units in summer, 24 in Fall & Spring=60 units) but 24 units a semester is pretty crazy, and it would be hard to get the right classes not to have a scheduling conflict. I wouldn’t recommend trying to do it in a year, you’ll get better grades if you take a lighter load and do it in 2 years. I took me 3 years to transfer to UCSD, but I had to take a lot of remedial math.

Take 3 units this upcoming winter session either online or during nights. Then the spring semester of your senior year take 9 units of online classes that are easy and fill IGETC requirements. 12 Units in summer, 18 in fall, 3 in winter, 15 spring. Thats how i would do it, but your grades could slip because you are doing so much. Especially if you didnt do well in high school, i would ease into CC and just take the 2 years to transfer to make sure you get the best grades you can

Lots of AP credits+summer courses+tons of units in fall+TAG to schools that don’t require you to finish pre-reqs and you can transfer in 1 year.

Wouldn’t recommend it though, while CC is most definitely easier than uni classes, overloading yourself like that can have some disastrous results if you for some reason can’t handle it. And you seriously don’t wanna screw up in CC.

This topic should answer all your questions.
