I'm a freshman at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. So far I haven't really liked it here. Just the atmosphere, the town, and the type of people that go here are not what I really wanted. I'm thinking about transferring to UNC Chapel Hill. It's basically the only other option, my parents can't afford private or out of state schools. What should I do?

Talk this over with your parents. Can your family afford UNC-CH? If so, then there isn’t any reason to not apply.

UNC is a great school. Very affordable. With the financial aid they offer, and the low instate tuition they already have, I think 99.9% of people can afford UNC-CH.

Yes, we can definitely afford Chapel Hill. And it’s also a lot closer to home. I’m just worried I wont be any happier there than I am here.
