Hi.

I currently attend college in Florida. My M got a promotion and is moving to NYC. I don't want to leave her up there all by herself so I want to transfer to a school that isn't that far way from the city and found this one and St. John's. I am from Georgia and have never been to New York so I was wondering if you guys could tell me anything about the surrounding area, the campus life as well as the rigor of classes and the Communication Department.

Thanks for any help you all can provide!!!

I am not committed to Fordham yet but from my visits I can tell you that the immediate surrounding area isn’t too bad. But as you probably know Fordham is in the Bronx and if you venture too far from the college you won’t find the nicest areas. With that said, its proximity to manhattan is a major plus and at least for me I feel like that makes up for the so-so surrounding area. From what I have heard the rigor of the classes is decent but nothing crazy challenging. Fordham has a large core that some students seem to like and others not. Most people seem to really enjoy going there overall though.
