possible transfer

what's up. i'm considering transfering to Rutgers (Newark campus) next year and would like some info. i currently attend St. John's University in Jamaica, Queens, NY (i dorm). i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the Newark campus. how's the campus life, dorms, food, etc. and is there a lot of stuff to do? where i'm at now there's always a party in someone's room, lots of liquor, plus clubs and bars nearby which i LOVE. i'm only transferring cuz they make you take 9 theology credits and i'm not religious. thanks in advance.

My kiddo is at newark and has no problem finding a party. With NJIT and essex county also with in walking distance there is always something to do and the campus is good. the food is good all the housing has been great that we have seen. the honors college is awesome. but not a lot of night life in newark itself. you will have to go to new york for that kind of night life. it is a very diverse campus, clean the newark museum is right there plenty of delis in the area. i am not sure about the bars did not look for them when we visited but i am sure like any city if you want to you can find a drinking hole. good luck watch the video they have online it is nice. good luck

OK...I went to SJU 25 years ago, back then they gave you an option to take Philosophy classes instead of Theology. I had a Jewish friend who didn't have to take the Theology clases. If that is the only issue...you should check it out before transferring.

I go to SJU too. I commute and I feel your pain on the theology and most of those credits wont transfer. I just hate commuting and dont want to dorm so close to home. I dont know where I want to transfer to yet
