What are my chances of getting into UF?

College greatly depends on what classes you’ve taken and what grades you have earned. For Biology as a transfer you need

Biology: Complete MAC 2311, CHM 2045 w/ lab, CHM 2046 w/ lab, and BSC 2010 w/ lab, BSC 2011 w/ lab. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and B or better in your first attempts.

Website here [Transfer Students | Academic Advising Center | University of Florida](http://advising.ufl.edu/prospective/transfer.html#Biology)

and UF only looks at the gpa with critical tracking courses. Not electives. So that 3.5 needs to be in calc, chem and biology.

A friend applied with a 3.45 did not get in. He had tons of ex cur and work experience in a hospital. I was shocked that he was not admitted.

Actually the 3.5 is an overall GPA. They definitely mean B or better in the first attempt. They get so many Biology applicants that withdrawing from a prerequisite course will get you denied for competitive reasons.

I know by the end of this semester ill have the 3.5 but i actually got C’s in Chem 2 and Bio 1… so it doesnt look good for me :(

Thank you so much for the help though guys

Do you guys know other good places i could apply to?

CALS is a little more lenient with their Biology degree.

I decided to apply for UF Microbiology. Do you think my chances are better?
