Possible Unified scheduling conflict :/

A couple weeks ago I recieved a letter from Point Park saying that my audition on Feb 2nd in NYC was confirmed and is at 10:00 AM. Today I got a letter from UArts confirming my audition for the same day at 10:40 AM. How long do Point Park auditions last approximately? Should I see about rescheduling the UArts one by pushing it back like... a half hour or so?

As I recall, Point Park doesn't do dance auditions, they only require 1 song of 16 bars and 1 1-minute monologue. That shouldn't take much more than like 5 minutes, should it?

Also, another question: Which schools at the Unifieds allow walk-ins? Do I need to do anything while I'm at Unis to be a walk-in like check in with anyone?

Thanks!

If I were you, I would call UArts and ask them if they can reschedule you. My guess is that they will be able to do so, as you will be getting your request in very early. I wouldn't count on any audition being held exactly at the stated time (schedules tend to run over, from what I hear) or lasting only five minutes. Even straight acting schools which have kids do ONLY two contrasting monologues ask you to set aside more than five minutes. I strongly suggest you politely ask either PP or UArts to move your audition up at least 30 minutes, if not an hour, to be on the safe side.

We have Juilliard at 9:00 on the 2nd. Now that we have that one, will try and schedule others. Have been waiting for that one. We have Ithaca and Shenandoah on the same day, one is in Virginia the other in DC. I am going to have to think about that one! Still don't have time yet, but it could be doable allowing for good weather and a 2 hour drive. I think DePaul is Feb. 1 and still waiting for Purchase to give us a list of times we prefer. We applied two weeks ago and still have not heard anything. Wondering if we should email them. Still wondering about Point Park - someone I met who lives close to there said the location is terrible (crime rate) some applications I have had trouble with - anyone had problems? What concerns me about U of Arts is the dorm situation - I guess they have to cook for themselves which means four years of hot dogs. Now he is looking into Marymount.

To Freedom;
I do believe that Point Park DOES indeed have a dance audition (D didn't audition for this school, however, I recall seeing students (auditioning for PP) dressed in dance clothes at the NY Unifieds....I think they have what they call a "dance class", and a "call-back".)
As far as "walk ins", they will be listed at the front desk. After deciding which you may be interested in you simply go to their location to sign up (or audition on the spot). The list of available "walk-in" schools was minimal (last year). Make sure to apply to schools for auditions rather than relying on walk-ins.

HCPSS....It's probably 6 hours from Winchester to Ithaca. You may want to reschedule some of that! Or, is the Ithaca audition in Washington?

Ithaca is in DC. It's actually about 1 hour to get TO DC, but to get to the location, it may be a little longer. What I suggest is to park your car in Springfield then take the metro over. It takes a little longer to do that on your way there, but it is a lot safer and you'll get out quicker.

And your right, PP does hold a dance class. I took a note on collegeboard.com for PPU saying that there weren't dance auditions in Unis, I guess I was wrong :/
