First of all, is it any easier to get into Case's med school if one did his or her undergrad study there? I am only asking cause in a princeton review or USNews medschool overview book it showed Case's Med School admissions for instate students at 19% whereas out of state was 6%. It had similar statistics for most med schools. This possibly could play a role in my decision making process.

Second of all, I am heavily interested in the school. I dug the campus and feel but I am scared of the stigma that it carries for being a ridiculously nerdy "sausage-fest" with some not so pretty females. I mean, I am all for getting a top-notch pre-med education but having some good fun for four years would be a definite plus! If any students could comment on the social atmosphere in regards to this situation that would be great.

"In-state" refers to residency, not where you go to school. In most states, just going to school in that state does not qualify you for residency. So someone from NY who goes to school in OH would not be considered an "in-state applicant" to Case. On the other hand, someone whose home is in Ohio but goes to school in another state would be considered "in-state." And most med schools do not give preference to their own undergraduates.

As for the social atmosphere question, there's not getting around the fact that there are a lot of serious students at Case, but people are still social, and like to have fun(there is a greek system too) I saw plenty of good looking girls too :-D

If you really want in state residency for Ohio, just register to vote here if you come here to college. Keep in mind this will make you lose residency in the state you're from and you might have some scholarships based off of this, so make sure you are able to do this!
As for the girls, I think I'm pretty cute. ;) Seriously now, while the campus scene is definetely noting like OSU people here do have fun. I think a lot of the complaining comes from students who never leave their dorm rooms and then complain that nothing ever happens to them.

see..there's a cute girl right there :)
stargirl>> jakem2839 ...IM me sometime lolll.

I don't think I'm ugly and I'll be heading to case next year :) No, it's not a party school, but the social life is what you make of it- nonexistant or quite good.

In regards to Case med school accepting more people from Case, this was because they used to get some state funding that required them to accept more Ohio residents. Since a lot of Case students are Ohio residents, then they ended up looking like they "favored" Case students. Also, we know how to have a good time at Case, don't worry! :)
