I received a Provisional Admission to CSULB- Cal State Long Beach.

I received a D in AP Stats first semester, (I called CSULB and they told me that I should be okay if it does not drastically lower my GPA)
and dropped into Finite for second semester...

I am now about to receive a D in Finite math class this 2nd semester.
I am wondering how this will affect my admissions- if I will get revoked?

Please tell me your opinions &/ any previous similar cases you have heard?
Thank you SO much for your input, it means a lot.

You really need to call CSULB to find out. That would be a year end D for math. As a provisional admit there is a good chance they’ll rescind your admission.

Bite the bullet and find out now, because if you don’t it will be too late to try to do anything about it. At the same time, ask if you could make up for this by taking the course in summer school, or something else.

Also approach your teacher, explain your situation, and ask if there is anything at all you can do to raise your grade to at least a C, including extra credit and extra work of any kind. If doing significantly better on the final would help you, hire a tutor NOW! If you don’t have the money for a tutor, see if you can find an advanced junior who will tutor you for the resume-building credit. Ask the math department to help you find someone.

My friend’s actually in an extremely similar situation except with Calculus AB. I did some looking around for him and found this:

An admissions expert who graduated from Stanford’s Business School actually answers it, so hopefully that helps!

Thanks for the link…it helped, but I just don’t see more videos…i guess it is fairly new?
