Possibly rejected Emory Scholars applicant-eligible for other financial aid?

I'm a senior who studies in Bulgaria (I'm a US citizen though) and Emory is on the top of my list. I visited the campus this September and after I spoke to an admission counselor I spontaneously decided to try out for Emory Scholars. Too bad nobody told me it was so ridiculously competitive... Anyway, I'll probably be denied the merit scholarship and will be considered for RD(I have good GPA and ECs for Bulgarian standards, but my SAT is 1380:( and my essays will be a bit rushed and tongue in cheek) . So my question is will I still be eligible for need-based aid? Will my chances for regular be hurt? I know it's a silly question, but I'm just now starting to learn new things about the Emory Scholars and I'm getting more and more scared that I got into something that's not for me.
And what if I somehow get some merit aid, will the need-based and merit-based awards be separate? I've read that some colleges take out need money and replace them with other scholarships you might be awarded, so contribution remains the same.

im applying for emory scholars....what are you learning about it?????

tell me!

well, make a search (sorry but I'm so exhausted I can't find it for you right now;) ), there was a thread that other applying forumers had made when their decisions started coming in. All semifinalists had at least a 1500 on the SAT. that's a bit discouraging at first, but if you think about it that's what you'd need for a full ride almost everywhere:) at least at a private university of first tier prestige. It's just such a great offer. so don't let the overall sense of confusion coming from my forst post let you down, apply so long as you can make it on time;)

You will still be eligible even if you do not get emory scholars, but you just have to apply.
