I am a Spring 2013 admit, and I believe I am going to fail 1 class, it is Philosophy 5 critical thinking, it is the equivalent of English 102. Meaning it counts as my 2nd requirement for English (the critical thinking requirement nonetheless). I have never gotten anything below a B and I know that as long as I pass with a C i am okay. but a FAIL for a REQUIREMENT...
Thoughts? Thanks

try not to fail it O_o, if you can. only thing i can say really. it is in the conditional statement. unless you really are you going to fail it? hmm ask if you can take course over the summer? but i hope things work out for you. it’s berkeley though, they’re not nice about these things…

intellectu4l is right. Try your absolute hardest not to fail this class, as they may rescind you for it. there’s no shame in getting a C at this point.

If you fail the class you WILL be rescinded. Even with a D most likely you’ll most likely be rescinded. From my understanding (especially with Berkeley), there can be no grades lower than a C, which is a very specific conditional requirement.

Someone on the Facebook transfer group who is also a Spring admit also failed a class this semester. He called Berkeley and they created a new “agreement” with him where he would have to re-take the class during the Fall and pass it with a B or higher. You should call them.

well obviously i tried hard not to fail it. I got a D which is still a fail so yeah…

Really? Thank you so much fluxrad!!! you instill hope in me!!! they can always refer back to my transcript when i applied i had a 4.0 so obviously my track record is squeaky clean. This semester was horrible!!! I already talked to the professor i took the class with and he knows i will retake the class but this time the honors class. I cannot tell you how much i appreciate it, if i dont get rescinded i will take you out for a drink!!! (im assuming you go to berkeley too)

Hi @ek9girl, I am a UC Berkeley Spring 2017 admit who’s in the same situation you were in. I was wondering how it worked out? I am unfortunately receiving a D in a non-required class (not needed for units, IGETC, major, etc.) but I’m scared for the rescind. It’s been a couple years, but wondering if theres a slight chance you’ll see this haha
