Hi guys! Ok so I have a tough decision. Currently I'm a junior on varsity tennis and I'm in band. Next year I could be band major (leader of the whole band) but I don't think I would be able to do that and varsity tennis and I could be bumped down to jv next year. What should I consider? Band for 3 years, with band major for a year and 2 years of tennis (1 jv one varsity) or band for 3 years, with section leader for 1 and tennis for 3 (1 year jv and 2 years varsity)?
Note: if I'm bumped down I won't play tennis senior year
Help D:

i think the last one is the best

Would me being band major matter much to colleges?

i’m not really sure what band major is, so i can’t answer lol sorry.

but i picked the last because you’re still section leader (is that good?) and you get to keep both varsity tennis and band.

Leadership positions are always more appealing to colleges, and there’s always a chance that you will still be on varsity tennis. I’d say stick to band.

@clementines band major is the student in charge of the whole band. @candid I was thinking the same thing but would they be perturbed by the fact that I left tennis even tho I was on varsity? I mean I don’t think ill get dropped but there’s always that chance :/

I think you should still make every possible effort to stay on varsity, but I’m in band too so I know how much work our band majors have to put in. I actually quit badminton for a year to focus on golfing because I just didn’t have the time. When you put in your activities and they see how many hours/week and weeks/year you spend with your band stuff, maybe they will understand.
