There is an article in today's Washington Post Metro section about women at USNA over the last 30 years. One of the moms interviewed is a USNA '80 grad and her boy/girl twins are in the class of 2010.

We lived at WP in the '90s when D was in ele school. At least three of her former WPES classmates (whose dads are now permanent Academy professors) are New Cadets at USMA as of last week.

Sharon Hanley Disher's book, First Class: Women Join the Ranks at the Naval Academy, is a wicked awesome book! I definitely recommend it, especially for girls interested in Annapolis. Makes you really appreciate women who have paved the way in the military.

Bought a copy of the book while in Annapolis, I believe autographed? Haven't even had time to dig it out of the back pack yet. But, I WILL be readng it. ;)

Amazing! Momoftwins could probably imagine what that would be like! :) I can't even! MOT, wasn't there a guy who used to post her that had twin sons at WP? Wonder what happened to him.... He would have enjoyed that story.

wvdad, definitely dig it out! i don't have my copy anymore, because i actually gave it to a friend going to USNA, but it's still one of the best books i've read in a while.

Yes, there was a dad with twin boys who played lacrosse at West Point. They were '05 grads and the dad sure had a lot of info to share. Also, this year there was a boy with a year of college who received an appointment to WP. His twin brother is a yuk at Buckner right now.

If the twins are identical, I have to smile & wonder if that drives the Cadre nuts. They might think one of the kids is in the wrong line or in the wrong company. LOL Joking. I'm sure they know by now who's who. But, if I were an identical twin, I'd HAVE to pull the old switch-a-roo on them atleast once just for kicks.
