post any scholarships or honors program here

im gettin kinda worried... i have a 96/100 GPA (~top 10%) 2050 SAT (1350/1600) and 10 AP classes... and really hoping for a scholarship since im not eligible for financial aid

did they come out yet? or are they going too soon?

If you applied for the Honors application you'd get in. Those scholarships are given from $2,500 a year-$5,000 a year. If you didn't, then you'll definitely be a scholar and get $2,500 a year.

cool i got an honors today with 3,000... are the ones who get 5,000 a year the smartest honors acceptees?

Maybe. I'm not positive about how it works but I know that people who get 1300+ are generally accepted into the honors program. I never thought I'd go to Buffalo, I went last minute so I never submitted an honors application. My old SAT score was a 1390 and they gave me the highest amount they offered to scholars, so yeah, the scholarships are strictly based on SAT scores.

I didn't know there was an honors app., but I got a letter today saying I was selected to participate in their UB Scholars Program and that they';; give me $1500 for four years. Does someone have a link for the honors app.?

there is no honors app.. i think, since i never filled one out and got into honors

$4,350 a year

i think theres an app for the highest level honors program, but there's a minumum SAT requirement that i didnt qualify for so i didnt bother looking into it

(The sat requirement is somehwre above 1440, bc that's what my score was)

I got a 3K scholarship...I think I like my 21K at Pittsburgh better.

i didn't apply for the honors college, but I got in....my SAT is sooooooo low, I have no idea how I got in!

Yeah, I don't think there's a separate application for honors.

dude, the highest honors program is the

"distinguished honors scholars
UB's top enteringfreshman are awarded Distinguished Honorsw Scholarships. THe scholarship covers full tuition, fees, housing, board, books, and travel, and other school-related expenses for four years of undergraduate study.
criteria:
outstanding academic merit, with financial need a consideration
minimum unweighted high school average of 95
combined SAT critical reading and math score of at least 1470
application:
in addition to applying to the university, a separate application is required and must be on file in the Honors office by late December. Offers are made in February"

so, yeah, there definitely is, but ONLY for the top program

(which i only missed by 30 points on the SAT. go figure. bitter.)

Hah I guess I missed it by 10 points!

i only got $1500, any ways to milk out more cash from them?

Hint that you got a better deal from another school

need-based financial aid?

have an affair with the dean, and then blackmail him/her (depending on what your into)

yea...i got the distinguished honors scholarship but i'm still waiting to here from other colleges....UB must have some pretty extensive funding for their honors programs

UB is one of the better funded schools in the SUNY system. their alumni's donate billions because they were so happy with their education and experience there. its a great school.

if you dont know much about UB, a few of its noteable alumnis are the ceo of coca-cola, wolf blitzer (from cnn), founder of miramax films, founder of paramount films, and many many many more famous figures.
