post any scholarships or honors program here

Buffalo is one of the only cities to have FREE impressive Shakespeare in the Park with many UB Theatre dept . people . We just visited a play there . As well as lots of science research ,it's a big theatre /arts town too .

My stats:
1340/1600 SAT
33/36 ACT
95.6 GPA
How much do u think I'll get?

hey i am a current student at suny buffalo and with those grades you will most likely get university honors.. which means $2,000-2,500 off each term. also, you will get priority registration (which is a BIG DEAL cause u get to get all the classes that u want before anyone else..so u can make the perfect schedule), also a list of honors classes that are only available to you.

also, u will get an override for credits no questions asked so u can take 21+ credits (up to 27) and not may a dime more for tuition. all in all..its a pretty sweet deal... there are other perks too.. but i just cant think of them off the top of my head

Do you have to apply for the honors programs do get any type of scholarships?

wait the decisions are out already for priority???

no you do not apply for it. if your grades are up to par, they will put you in the honors program automatically. however, its very competitive. if you arent selected to be in the honors program, the program right underneath it is the scholars program which only has $1500 for the school year off as a perk...no priority registration...and nothing else i included in my previous post. its better than nothing.

and yes buffalo has rolling admissions meaning there is no set date when they will release admissions and rejections...they do it as they receive applications.

if you have any other questions, feel free to ask

JAHmed... i submitted my app on 10-30-2006... when do u think i will receive a decision??

thats around the same time i sent mine out.. i got mine within january i think.. u can call em to check on the application status..theyre nice people

k thanks... maybe ill do that

My letter didn't mention the scholars or honors program, but I got $3000 off/year. Is there another letter I get for honors. I got a 1340 on the SAT, 30 on ACT, and have a 94ish (above 93..) average.

I got a decent sized amount. They gave me $2,500 for the Provost, and $3,500 for being out-of-state, which is a total of $6,000.

3,000 a yr for Provost... 12,000 in total for 4 yrs...

colincsl - I had that same question. DS was notified that he received a Provost Scholarship, but nothing was said about the honors program. I called the admissions office this afternoon; they are trying something different this year. The money awards were sent out first. The honors notices will be sent out in the next week or two.

DS got his honors letter today. UB selected 300 out of 19,000+ students that applied.
But he's not sure he's going to UB; there are still a few schools he hasn't heard from yet.

My kid got the honors letter today too. Between the honors opps and the scholarship, SUNY just bumped Pitt on my kid's finalist list. We'll be visiting again asap, but first my kid has a state sports championship to win...I guess it's a matter of priorities. Sigh.

My friend got one of those full full full scholarships with a 34 act (dunno about sat). He said he heard only 10 people get it, but i'm not sure how true that is. Still very impressive.

Got a letter today with Provost scholarship (10k over 4 years) inviting me to the Scholars program. Lots of great perks! It's not honors program, but UB really does bend over backwards to get the good students to come to their school. I'm impressed and flattered. I'm thinking it was my essay that made me stand out, my GPA is rather lackluster compared to other Provost scholars.

I got into honours and almost a full ride! I'm OOS so I don't know how that happened lol
sooo I REALLY wanna visit now.. like more than anything.. and if I like it then its definitely going to be a final choice
