Didn't seem nearly as hard as I thought it would be. The number-crunching on no-calculator MC got irritating, but I managed almost all of the questions, and the free-response really wasn't hard at all. I doubt I made less than a 4, and may even have made a 5.

i found the simple decimal divisions harder than anything else on the whole test

soooo much friggin calculations on the mc. i'm guaranteed a 4, i might have gotten a 5.

So... I had no idea there were questions after part d of the last question... how bad it THAT?! omg i'm so stupid. The test was great though.

i was really glad that the reactions and the rest of the fr was so easy. i was kind of worried that the test would be harder since we had no choice in the problems we could do, but it was refreshingly easy.

I self studied AP Chem and it was easier than I expected, though I couldn't finish the last question.I wish I reviewed more from PR.I could have made a 5 then!

If anything tripped me up in the MC, it was the arithmetic. I hate dividing/multiplying with decimals because it gets so confusing.

The reactions in Section II were way easier than I anticipated. Maybe because it was the first year they didn't give people a choice. In any case, I was very grateful.

The FRQs weren't bad either. I'm iffy about some parts of two of them, but otherwise, I think I did pretty well.

I thought free response part A was a joke. Part B had some really unfamiliar but easy problems (the one with all those variables).

I'm confident I got at least a 3, our new teacher really tripped me up but I studied hard for a few days and it was worth it.

The MC I knew the majority of and the free response with the exception of maybe 4 parts from two different questions, I answered everything.

Well that test sucked. It could have been worse though. It's pretty annoying multiplying and dividing decimals without a calculator. I hope I got a 3.

im definately numb. i know i messed up part B of the FRQ with my nonexistant net ionic skills

i messed up a lot of multiple choice q's and lots of the fr. how do you usually need to do to get a 4, 5?

60% MC is pretty much a guaranteed 3. 50% of FR correct would get you a 4, I think.

For me...

MC: Skipped about 10. Not that bad. Lots of long but essentially simple division/multiplication. Had about 5 minutes to spare in the end.
FR: BS'ed most of Part A, but I think I might get a few points just for showing work. Reactions were so easy, especially if you studied the harder reactions they have on the College Board site. No time to spare in the end.

Predicted score: Definitely at least 3, Probably a 4, Most likely not a 5

Overall: I've taken 2 other AP's already (US History & Government/Politics) and they were exponentially easier. I think social sciences and history are just naturally easier than REAL sciences like chemistry. It was definitely tough, though I saw no real way of studying for it (so I hardly did). Like, you get it or you don't -- a lot like SAT Reasoning.

I didn't think the arithmetic was that bad. I think I got about 60 MC right, plus or minus. The first three FR were easy. Six wasn't too bad but I disliked five.

sometimes the math helps me because i know it has to work out. the other questions, like I, II, III...i can just never get those.

I dunno. Everybody has been saying that MC required some Math skills, For me the MC was reaallllllllyy easy, but Part B of FR was just OK. The ones I had trouble with were Number 2, part 2(ln/log of whatever gives 0), Number 5, part c. Never did any labs in class. Number 6: part b or c (probably both)
There weren't many calculations on the MC.
Maybe I got a different version??

if i skipped 10 on the MC and thought the frq was pretty easy could i have still gotten a 5? and if i dont get 50 points on the MC but do well on the frq's can i still get a 5?

Yeah, there aren't THAT many calculations, but there are some that need dividing by decimals and stuff. But you could definitely do it in your head (which is probably what you did) if you're the type of person who can do that.

And I agree with the number 2, part 2 question! I spent so much time trying to figure out how that worked, and I'm still not sure what the answer is. I'll ask around in, um, 48 hours I guess.

I skipped 2, or at most 3 on the MC.
I am getting worried. Maybe I did them all wrong.
I mean, don't you just have to move the decimal to the right in both, the numerator and the denominator??
.3/10 = 3/10
.3/.05 = 30/5

We've said it several times in several threads but in case you aren't clear....

There will be NO discussion of MC questions at all, and NO discussing of FR questions until at least 48 hours after the exam. You read the rules, and we expect you to follow them.

Anyone discussing questions will have their posting privileges suspended.
