Thanks merpug, you made me feel better :)

I hope the ends of my last body paragraphs were "satisfying" At least they were strong arguments ( I guess) supported by lots of compelling examples (I hope)
Thank that I'm in 4 territory?

if you get 47 right on the multiple choice then you only need 2 6s and a 5 on the essays.

Seriously? That would be sweet. What's the formula for figuring out the approximate score?

All you guys who say it is easy should be a little more conservative in your estimates... I always find that when I'm overconfident I do poorly on tests.

Anyway, I agree with almost everyone else's opinions: first passage was hard and the rest were easy (although I didn't finsih the last one - spent ~20mins on the first one). I liked the first two essays but not the third.

Someone else posted that the curve for a 5 is 112+, but my Cliffs book says it is 104+ and my English teacher says it's 101+... which one is it???

The book my teacher gave out says 100

more MC questions = lower curve, so it's closer to the cliffs value (53 questions in relation to 55)

My teacher told us it's 112 or 114 (can't remember; he read it off from an official CB sample exam) for a 5, and 95 for a 4.

MC: #1 difficult, #2, #3 easy, #4 confusing; at least 43 right, as I have never deviated from 10 off on all the MC sections in the past
FR 1: Easy argument, used all sources; given guidelines, at best 9
FR 2: Easy analysis, but I was only able to produce a page and a half (at best 7)
FR 3: Slightly more difficult argument, but was able to come up with a few good examples (at best 8)

FRQ 1: Domination! Domination! Domination! Used many outside examples and produced 4 pages of awesomeness!
FRQ 2: However, in dominating Q1, I left 15 minutes to answer Q2. Bad move. It was like a page and a half of rambling. Bad Bad Bad.
FRQ 3: Good. Used some good examples.

I couldn't use literature in any of my essays. I hope that that doesn't look too bad. Also, I couldn't work in any of my vocab words (was writing like the wind!), or Wolfowitz and the World Bank (my current event of the day)

Unfortunately, I did terrible on the MC, (Maybe 30 Raw Points), so At best, I'm hoping for a 3. :(

Calc > Chem > APUSH > Lang.

Anyone knows what is the curve for 3/4/5 on AP Lang?

Overally I thought it was easier than I expected but my last essay was terrible. I don't know what happened... Oh well.

i think MC was so easy! and the the second and third essays were relatively simple as well. the synthesis did not go so well for me, the sources were difficult to incorporate IMO. expecting a 4?

Does anybody know whether it is even considered that you use more than three sources in grading the synthesis? Because my overall essay was pretty good, a little over three pages, but I only used three sources in conjunction with my own examples.

^ I think all that matters is that you used three sources and cited them correctly. I don't think it would greatly change your score if you used more than three.

That's good. On a side note, how do you think the graders feel about ***** (****ing censor - I was trying to say "male genitalia") jokes? In retrospect, I'm not sure my introductory paragraph to the synthesis essay was the best example of what TO do.

yeah i love how most of us are all pretty confident about everything; hopefully in july, we won't be complaining about how we all got 2's!
oh and inyc, since when is it not okay to doodle? or was that just some smug comment inserted to imply that you had SO much time left over you felt the urge to draw...=]
okay maybe i'm just bitter that i ran out of time!

I don't know how all of you can be so confident. "ZOMG SO EASY I TOTALLY GOT A 5!!111!"

Sadly, I think I got a 2. At least I have some humility, I guess. Pfierce, you are my hero.

(I've been lurking around CC for a while. First post!)

I dunno. I think I got around 45-47 MC right.
Synthesis: 7-8
Rhetorical: 6-8
Argumentative: 4-6

I'm just worried about the last one...what constitutes a 4 or 5 essay instead of a 6? I gave like 3 examples sorta but they were more like hypothetical explanations. One of them was a personal example. The whole thing was 1.5 pages.

I thought the multiple choice went both OK and unknowable -- it was like, this totally depends on what they are thinking with this question and I'm not sure if my thinking is in line with theirs.

Synthesis = very sweet topic. I thought that was really good, especially with the 15 min. reading period. I feel like I wrote a really strong essay there.

Analytical = not so sure; I hope I interpreted the passage right -- really don't know.

Argumentative = not the greatest topic, but I think I put out some intelligible, fairly clear arguments.

sleepinglessons, bravo
maybe you can give humilitylessons as well ;)
