So I applied to 6 different Cal State schools and each and everyone of them sent me an email saying I need to make an account/portal. Simple enough, but what I don’t get it that they want me to send them my official ACT test scores but I thought I already did that on the CSU so why would they want them again?
You can check your ACT portal and confirm you already sent your scores to a CSU.
It sometimes takes a while for each campus to connect your act score with your CSU portal.
Check your student portals frequently to make sure the ACT scores have been received and downloaded. It can take a couple of weeks for them to show up since some schools only download the scores weekly. Also check the portal for your “to do list” in case the schools need any other documentation beside your application information.
This is all so confusing and overwhelming.
The only time I sent in my ACT score was when I applied online on the official CSU website. That’s it. I never requested for the ACT to send scores specifically using any school code or anything. So does that mean I have to do that? Or did I already do that when I sent in my CSU App? I will be making my portals, I’ve already made two. Now I just need to make 4 more.
Nevermind I jsut found out that entering the scores on the application alone won’t count. I need to send them in again I guess. Guess it’s off to the ACT website! Yay…
Wait one last thing, do we have to send in AP scores seperately too? Or only the ones we passed with a 3 or higher??
If you list a CSU campus as an ACT score report recipient, your scores will automatically be sent to all campuses to which you submit an application.
You do not send AP scores until you have been accepted and enroll in one school so you would send them after you graduate. These are due in July along with your final HS transcript.
Just kidding I lied. I have another question. SInce I filled out the EOP part of the CSU App, how do they know I am an EOP applicant? Did it get sent to all of the schools or??
Thanks again!
If you filled out the EOP portion of the CSU application, then you have applied for the EOP program. Each CSU will see that information on your application for which you applied.
How do I know If I listed a campus as an ACT score recipient?
When you send your ACT scores, you list the schools where you want the scores to be sent. You only need to list one of the CSU’s you applied and the rest of the schools will also receive the scores.
Here is how to order your scores: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/scores/sending-your-scores.html
Oh I see. Unfortunelty for me, I didn’t know this and I chose NOT to send my scores in because I didn’t know if they were going to be good or not. So now I have to go to the ACT website and manually add all 6 campuses and have them charge me 78 dollars.
UNLESS there is another way?? Oh and also I check my San Jose State application and it said incomplete because I need to send in my scores so I know for a fact the other schools didn’t get them either.
SO IS there another way @Gumbymom?
You can send your scores to one CSU campus and they will be shared with all the other campuses. You do have to pay for each test date if you took the ACT a couple of times.
You could apply for a fee waiver if you qualify: https://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/FeeWaiver.pdf
School codes for the ACT: https://help.liaisonedu.com/Cal_State_Apply_Applicant_Help_Center/Sending_Your_Official_Test_Scores_to_Cal_State_Apply/Sending_Official_Test_Scores_to_Cal_State_Apply/Official_ACT_Scores
Now let me get this straight…on the ACT website since I didn’t send my scores to any school when I took the test. And the only time I sent scores was on my csu application. You’re saying, that now that the 6 campuses I applied to are asking me to send them my ACT scores, I only have to type in one 4-digit code for ONE school and it will send it to ALL the CSU’s I applied to??? Which in turn means…I DO NOT have to pay 78 dollars for all 6 of them?? Correct or incorrect?
Correct!! Send it to any one of your CSU schools and it will be shared with all.
Info is here: https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/getting_into_the_csu/pages/testing-requirements.aspx
“If you list a CSU campus as an ACT score report recipient, your scores will automatically be sent to all campuses to which you submit an application.”
@“Classiest2002@me”: Just so you understand.
You self-reported your ACT scores on the CSU application. All CSU’s need an official copy of your scores from the ACT to review your application.
As stated above, you list one CSU on your ACT order and the scores will be shared by all campuses. If you took the ACT more than once, you need to send the ACT scores from all sittings if you reported them on your CSU application.
Since the CSU’s superscore, it is to your benefit (most times) that you send all scores to get the superscore.
Thank you so much @Gumbymom and @aquapt.
Now, how do I send in TWO scores for my ACT? I wan’t them to superscore my ACT and I know only some CSU’s do this, so do I send them to only the school that superscores and they will share it with all the CSU’s I applied to? Does it even matter which one I send both my scores to? For example, I know CSULB superscores the ACT, which is apparently really rare for the CSU because all the other schools I applied to (Northridge, San Jose, San Diego, Fullerton, Sonoma) don’t superscore the ACT. The only other CSU I know of that superscores is Cal Poly (I didn’t apply here so I could care less).
As always thank you for feedback.
FOR THE PURPOSE OF NOT STARTING ANOTHER PAGE THINGY:
Oh also I sumbit my FAFSA a couple days ago and they processed it and it said my EFC is 0. From what I know that is a good thing because it means I will recieve the full amount of aid, but how much exactly is that?? Is it 6,195$?
All CSU’s superscore the ACT so send each ACT test date to one CSU campus.
You will receive the maximum Ferderal Pell grant of $6195 for the year. You are also eligible for Cal grants and work study with an EFC of $0.
