I wrote a really unique essay, and on my acceptance letter the admissions counselor handwrote "I loved your essay! Congratulations, hope to see you in the fall!" So I think this might be what did it for me.

Congrats to everyone who got in to BC! I heard that EA applications went way up this year - like a 12% increase. And BC was the already the fourth-most applied to private college in the country!

I'm a frosh here in Chestnut Hill, and I must say coming to BC was one of the best decisions I've made or will ever make. It's definitely the ideal college life, and every year it just gets better. When you visit the campus, try to get to a hockey game in Conte if it's not sold out or see our ACC-bound basketball team.

Congrats again to everyone and to those who got deferred, hang in there, it's worth it!

Accepted - CAS
SAT:1580
GPA: 93
8 APs
Parochial school in GA

No Honors I guess. Oh well, what can you do...

Yeah, I think it is a nice touch for the admissions counselors to write a personal note on the acceptance letters. Although mine didn't refer to anything specific (thats awesome Collegehopeful2005!!!), I still felt loved w/ the little note she wrote. :-)

What exactly is the 'honors program'?

Here's a link to the BC A & S Honors Program:

http://www.bc.edu/schools/cas/honors/

My daughter gave me permission to post that she was accepted yesterday to A & S Honors - she loved the school and is very, very excited. Now she has to wait for April to see how her other schools pan out (finances will be a factor in her eventual decision).

For the person who asked about Presidential scholarship notification (maybe on another thread?) - according to the PSP website, a separate letter is sent out later - December 18th through 20th.

is there an honors program for each of the schools or just for A&S?
