i'm definitely getting deferred.. i feel the depression coming on!

collegehopeful- what did you write about?!!
and chrisso, how were ur extracurriculars/essay/sat IIS, and if you dont mind me asking, ur ethnicity?

Rovee--I see that you are from Tacoma. We are originally from Seattle, and we have 2 at the UDub. D just got into BC, as I see you did. Are you considering staying in Wa., or is Boston your town of choice so far??

caseyatbat-- Hi! It's good to hear from someone who has roots in WA. Do you and your family live here? My brother graduated from the UDub (go huskies!) and I'm also applying there. It's funny, 'cus when you're raised in WA you don't really see UW for the awesome school that it is, until like your senior year! haha. Now that I got into BC, I feel a little torn. I love Boston College because it seems like the perfect school for me (nice city, size, Catholic, great education, "the college experience"). Now with UW, even though my biggest concern is the fact that there are 40,000 students, its still an awesome school. I am also going to apply for the honors program at the U to see if I can get into the smaller classes and avoid those crazy 800 student sized lectures! But even if all this happens, I have a feeling that I will still go with BC. Although I'll probably receive crappy aid (i'm going to really miss the instate tuition!), Boston just seems like the place for me.

What is your daughter's situation? Congrats on her acceptance... I bet she's ecstatic! Like I asked before, are you guys from WA?? 'cus if you guys are and if both your d and i do go to bc, it would be nice to know that there is someone whose coming from the same place as you.

Each school has its own Honors Program.

rovee--We are from the PNW (H from Tacoma-I'm from Bellevue), but haven't lived there since late 70's. We have been in Ca. for last 20 years. Being out of state makes the UDub look more "exotic" perhaps. My kids have loved it!! They became very involved and really thrived while there. Both Seattle and Boston are such great cities, academics at both are top notch....it will be a tough choice. I hate to hijack the BC thread to talk about UW, so suffice to say that she is far from knowing where she is going. She has visited Seattle so often and just loves it--same with her one visit to BC. For you however, $$ are significantly different, so I was curious how you felt? Lots of decision making in the next few months...Good luck.

heebiess- i had a bunch of extra currculars yearbook editor, multicultural fair, founded club....blah blah. Essay I think is what saved me fomr getting rejected all together. My SAT2s were like 670 US history, and I just took the other 2 in Dec (dont have scores yet) I'm white lol. I don't really think that helps or hurts me in the process.
