Post Final Decisions.. Where we all go to in the end!

Accepted. SIGH

Wow, so final decisions are out. Congrats to all of you who got in!!! Hope you all have a wonderful experience at Columbia :P. To those who didn't, you guys are just as awesome, this just means that you'll be doing some more paperwork :P, but hey, when april comes around, I'm sure you will all have plenty of great colleges to choose from.

I'm still anxiously waiting Yale to post decisions on the 15th/16th!

If any of you ppl just want to brag and chat about your acceptance, lament about defferal or rejection, feel free to hit me up on AIM :P

Does anyone think this process is brutal? Impersonal email decisions and whatnot, it just makes the admissions process seem so...detatched. I feel horrible for all of you who are rejected, but don't worry, you're not alone. Brown, Penn, Cornell, Yale, Pton, and Harvard have yet to receive decisions.

Oh and congrats to all those who got in! (Personally, I think Hartley has the best dorms.)

lol i got deferred, but i think they just wanna see if i get anything from the intel competition, if i do i think i ll get in, if i dont i think im rejected.

I think that may be precisely why MIT doesn't do online notification... you can't even hold an email rejection in the palm of your hands :(

"Is it me or do the people getting rejected or deferred have better stats than those getting accepted. No offense to those who got in, but I'm just curious how the adcom made their decisions."

yeah, Daria, you are somewhat right about that and what Sadia said is probably very true for your response...and in my case also. I'm glad Columbia saw something else besides the numbers...

For those defered, hang in there because I know many of you really loves Columbia. For those rejected, I'm going to stick to the classic "Columbia is also thinking of YOUR happiness" argument, they did it for a reason...and personal happiness is probably one of them.

I wish all of you best of luck in the future.

accepted....my stats are low too..sorry to everyone who didnt make it....columbia really isnt going to be as great without you, but PLEASE keep in touch...the fraternity of this post is all gone down the crapper if you drop off!

Opalstar!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!!!!!
I am so happy for everyone, and for those who did not make it, rest assured it is all apart of God's plan.

rejected.
SAT 1510 (780M, 730 V)
SAT II 800 MathIIC, 770 Writing, and 740 Bio-m

conclusions: my ec's were pretty low (but i was in school for 13 hrs a day (Jewish student taking dual curriculum)), and my essay was too risque'

Rejected. No ECs probably DID hurt a lot. I'll save the worrying for April the 1st, though.

wow. You guys, I'm really sorry to those rejected/defferred. I'm worried about silver wavez too. I fear an awful truth, and it's really bugging me. Congrats to all who got in. All of you have inspired me SO much. I've never felt so nervous over decisions that don't affect my life.

Congratulations to all those who were accepted!

And to those who weren't, don't worry too much about it. You're all EXTREMELY well qualified individuals, and the problem was just that Columbia couldn't take everyone - I can definitely understand some of the frustration when you work so hard for something and feel so committed to it and get rejected. I'm sure you'll get into plenty of other great colleges, though. Good luck!

To anxious1 - I am sure that God will be happy that his plan is proceeding as expected. It's not a reason to be happy for those who have been rejected, however.

accepted CC!!! WOW haha totally not expecting it!

3.75 UW GPA
SAT 1540 (740M, 800V)
SAT II 800 Writing, 760 Math IIC, 790 Chinese, 730 Chem
EC's: Amnesty, yearbook, tennis, fencing, community service, 6 varsity letters, MUN, other typical stuff.

i dunno how i would judge my essay and recs and stuff. i'd say they were ok.

i'm definitely looking forward to meeting all you awesome people in the fall! i've been stalking these boards for a while, but i felt like i'd jinx myself if i posted something before i got my decision. anyways, if anyone wants to chat... then IM me.
