I hope everyone submitted their apps in time! For those of you applying to Haas, the next round of essays are right around the corner. For those of you that don't recognize my name I transferred to Haas last year from a CC in the Bay Area --- so I understand what you guys are going through.

Anyhow, I haven't been active here in a while due to school and work. However, I have regularly been receiving emails from College Confidential members asking for transfer, internship and essay advice. For those of you that haven't received a reply, I apologize for the delay - it's just been a very busy semester. I'd love to help you all but I just don't have the time to address everyone's specific issues and wish I had the manpower to do so.

I am considering launching a website/blog where I will regularly post tips/advice on transferring to a UC (specifically catered to Business Schools, including Haas). I'm hoping that this would branch out to something bigger where I'll have resume and essay critiques, since the majority of business schools require a resume in their applications. I have a pretty strong network of MBA's at some of the top MBA programs in the area and could potentially get them on board. I wanted to share this idea with everyone and see what you guys think and I'd like to open it up to suggestions/criticism?

thanks this is a good idea. there was a guy named jcberger or something who made a thread to give advice but he quit after like a wk or so this past summer…first off, can u tell us what the prompt is for the supplementary essay in jan.?

Good stuff — I’m not sure what the prompt is this year, they like to change them pretty often. I wrote on “if I could change one thing in my life, what would I change and how would I do it differently?”

oo that’s interesting. i was listening to the Haas podcasts and they were talking about how they ask all these type of questions in their MBA interviews.

My brother is currently enrolled in their MBA program — their undergrad essays have a very similar theme.

My stats are below:

3.9
Finished all 9 breath requirements
VP of Business Club on Campus
Honors Society
Handful of case studies (placed top 3 and 5 in several of them)
Internships at hedge fund, investment bank, and large health care provider (accounting/finance department)
Volunteered at hospital
Organized a few events at the Haas campus

That’s the bulk of it, may be more, I’ve made previous threads with my stats prior to transferring

i was wondering what the resume template they say they give us is like…is it limited to one page? does it look like an actual resume or is it like the activities section of the uc app again? is there a limit on how much we can write? etc. etc… Thanks.

The resume you are required to submit is more of an application page - there are specific sections such as “work experience, activities, etc” and you are limited in how many words you can include. You want to make sure your resume is top notch for this.

I obtained access to case studies via my business club.

Would you guys be interested in the site I want to start?

I ended up launching the site, [UC Transfer FAQ | Real Transfer Advice](http://www.uctransferfaq.com)… I hope it helps you guys and goodluck. Feel free to ask any questions as they come up!
