Anyone else on this forum majoring in computer science at bu?

@JJPeerless: I had considered it, but was advised not to by trustworthy guides (PM me if you have to know who). Instead, I think I may minor in the field. But who knows what I'll end up wanting to do by my junior year.

I have a question. If they gave you a scholarship would it appear on the website or does it come in the mail? I got accepted, but on the website there is no info about money.

sometimes the scholarship info comes with the home mailiimg and sometimes it comes later but I do not believe it is ever on line. If it does not come in your accpetance packet call and ask if it is coming later. (or email them)

yeah i'm kind of an idiot and i dont know how this html code works...we're supposed to delete the spaces within the brackets? as in the * to the left of what we fill in?

-why accepted...who knows? i guess im well rounded...

...does anyone know how competetive the school of management is? i have no clue what the acceptance rate is...

I heard the school of management is one of the best in the nation. A lot of people come out of there very prepared to handle the real world. It's definitely one of the best programs that BU has to offer.

It's ranked 50 in US NEws and Report under undergraduate business in the country, so it is definentely a good program, but I would not call it one of the best in the nation. (People should do their homework before rattling off generalizations about colleges.)

"(People should do their homework before rattling off generalizations about colleges.)"

first of all he/she said "I heard the school of management is one of the best in the nation." he/she didn't say it was fact, merely just passing on information that they were told because they thought it was helpful. Second "best" is a vague and relative term. Some people could see it as being one of the best while others wouldn't. What one sees as the best is usually just an opinion. Secondly you based your opinion of best business schools on 1 ranking. I am sure many people on this board would agree with me when i say rankings arn't always right. Other intangible aspects of colleges are often used when people make their own judgement of the best. Some people may consider it one of the best. You and I don't but that doesn't make it a false to say it is. (people should follow their own advice before they tell others what to do)

Thanks plagmayer.

Lots of ECs but not the leadership position type (Jazz Band, job, summer internship, stage crew, Math Club, NHS, LaCrosse, etc.) Assume my RECS were great.

Love BU, thought about SF, NYC, and D.C. but like the size and friendliness of Boston. Like the on campus music scene and all the different activities. Glad it's not a frat boy atmosphere. Hoping to reside in West or Warren for Freshman year then like a friend's sister move to one of the apartment suites with a few friends I make there. (at least I hope I make friends) can't attend accepted days in Apr. but will attend orientation in the summer. Hope I get in Honors so I can go to that New Hamphshire weekend even though I am not used to the outdoorsy life.Want to try to snowboard and also try to get involved in some type of club but believe it or not I can be a little shy in the beginning so we'll see.

ARE THERE ANY OPINIONS ABOUT THE STRENGTH OF BU'S JOURNALISM PROGRAM?

Two of the bigger things BU has going for it are hockey and COM. You'll have a good time in journalism.
