Post here if your decision was reversed(through appeals)

i sent mine out yesterday, eagerly awaiting. they said that they evaluate them as soon as they come in

waiting on that letter still :</p>

did you find out how many points short you were? I'm sending mine out monday.

i was 270 points

yes, please if anybody was successful in appealing, please post!

i was 90 points off!!!! ughh

my roommate last year appealed and got in. i forgot what he appealed with but i'll try and ask him.

Ok.. How about this. Has anyone who has appealed seen a change in their admissions page yet, like "we are currently reviewing your appeal"... or something like that?

I appealed to UCLA. and then i checked my status website. this is what it said.

Dear XXXX:

We have received your letter asking that we reconsider our admission decision for Fall Quarter 2007. We are in the process of reviewing your record again.

If your name and contact information listed above is incorrect, please notify us.

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions
and Relations with Schools

How long did it take for them to post that after they received it?

you know how they say your appeal must be POSTMARKED by the 16th? well does that mean they need to RECEIVE it by then, or do we need to have SENT it out by then? anybody know?
thanks in advance!

they mean postmarked as in sent by the 16th. but seriously dont wait till then... turn it in as early as you can. the earlier the better.

Wait, why would sending out an appeals earlier be better?

Do the appeals people read the letters as they come in? I always imagined them to procrastinate and put it in a big pile and read through all of them in a day. (Kinda like how I study for tests)

they read appeal letters as they come in. this one guy on the forum.. ucla20011 or something i think thats his username sent his in 3 days after he got rejected, and got his appeal accepted today. why would you want to procrastinate something like this if its that important to you? get it in thereee :)

problem is, I wanted to attach my school transcript as well along with my school counselor's letter of rec, but my school is on spring break right now... so I can't get a hold of any of them... Maybe I'll leave a note? Heh

^dirtysocks, i'm excactly the same predicament as you. well.. i was completely ready to send in my appeal like a week after i was rejected, but it was spring break last week, and when i contacted my teachers/counselors for recs like two weeks ago, they kept on procrastinating and to this day still have not given me my recs! so i guess i'll send in my appeal today, and send in the recs later when they're finished w/ them..
this is soooo frustrating.
i just hope i get an answer before the SIR deadline.

Again, same problem. I sent mine out on the 13th, but I had no transcript to give. I'll have to hope everything else will work...

dawn1029, you let your teachers know two weeks in advance that you needed a letter of recommendation, the agreed, and they still didn't get them to you?! Did you tell them you had to have the package postmarked on the 16th? That's pretty unexcusable, I'd be rather upset. Good luck to you, sorry to hear that that happened. Although the letters aren't required, they would most likely help your case a lot.

anyone who appealed to UCSD get an update on the website yet? I mailed mine last monday, still nothing.

Still the same page for me too. Mailed mine on monday as well..

Anybody get an update on the website yet?

i was notified i got approved last week! i'm so happy
