<p>SAC is right. These scholar programs aren't that big of a deal, in the greater scheme of things, especially since there really isn't a defined purpose for them. Students at Columbia really don't know much about these programs, if they even know what they are. </p>

<p>Making your parents happy is probably a major benefit to this.</p>
