I know that USC states on their website that all applicants will know of their admission status by April 1st. My question is, will any of us receive admission letters in February or early march? Or do they only send the acceptance and rejection letters in one big group towards the end of March?

Towards the end of March, I believe.

They generally send them out the last week of March! (So then everyone has their actual decision by April 1)

What about the applicants who receive stuff in Mid/Early March? I just read a post from a mother about her son getting accepted last year around that time. Is that just a mail delay incident or is that how it works with the smaller scholarships like the Norman Topping?

I’m wondering about this too. Because I’m applying to the USC.baa and Norman scholarships so I’m wondering how that would work.
They are due in February 8 and you might get called for an interview?
If you get called for an interview does that mean you are in? Because USC has to give you your financial aid letter around acceptance…

^^ I am wondering the same thing. Like what if I apply for those scholarships and I don’t even get in? It would kind of be a waste of time…

well applying for the scholarships are no big deal. But applying then having to interview and then finding out your not in USC would be a w t f momentlol

yeah exactly what ilovemyego23 said. Wouldn’t your scholarship reward have to be factored into your financial aid calculations? That would have to mean that USC would have to notify you if you received the scholarship (and admission I assume) before you received your financial aid summary.

But so far, I haven’t found anybody to confirm that.

Financial aid will go out the second week of April for accepted applicants who submitted all financial aid materials by the deadlines. That gives three weeks before commitment deposits are due on May 1st.

Those who miss financial aid deadlines will hear after on-time applicants get their packages.

For the Topping Scholarship, I am not certain, but it is my recollection that admission was NOT confirmed when applicants were contacted by phone in March for interviews. When applicants reported in on the forum after their interviews, they said they were informed of admission at the interview. It is possible that some were not admitted and did not check in here, but it seems an invitation to interview for the Norman Topping Scholarship in March would be a positive sign in terms of admission.

Just spoke to Norman topping, and they say that the scholarship interviews are done after the acceptance into USC.

I think the early/mid-March waves (which my son had 3 years ago) are a thing of the past. Last year (if not the year before as well - not sure), non-scholarship acceptances went out closer to April 1.

I think I had a mid to later march acceptance. When you get it really depends on where you live…but everyone gets it around the end ish of march

As far as scholarships and financial aid, my D was not notified regarding one of her USC Alumni scholarships until June. Financial Aid just readjusted. In our case, the scholarship just replaced grant money. So, students will get financial aid offers at the end of April, but USC FA will reevaluate them as students get USC or outside scholarships.

HI. I live in HI and all my friends have gotten emails from USC. Most of them got a “We are unable to offer you a scholarship” type email but my best friend got a scholarship and acceptance email. My other friend got an email with no scholarship but acceptance. All my classmates are getting emails of either scholarship or denial of scholarship. However, I have not received an email nor mail regarding the USC scholarship. I have made sure my email is correct and have checked my spam folder and did everything but I don’t know why. I thought it has not come because I submitted my FAFSA and CSS yesterday, but I heard that does not matter. Thus, when am I getting my email/mail and decision?

so…

KSuzy31–why not send a short email to your USC admissions rep (you can find his/her name on the USC website if you need to look it up). There is likely some administrative/paperwork mistake that can easily be corrected, but this also gives you a chance to “talk” to the rep who will make the decision on your app in a couple of months. If you happen to have a late-breaking honor (or even just great midyear grades) it can’t hurt to briefly mention it (like got the lead in a school play–that sort of thing). Best of luck.
