I was wondering, if the financial aid forms are due 2/15 (today!!) does that mean it should be post marked by 2/15 ??

I totally forgot until now, and apparently the post office is closed in observance of presidents day.

is it bad if I send it in 2/16, bad as in I won't receive the FA or THEY'LL POSSIBLY DISREGARD MY FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION?

helpppp!

I applied ED and missed the date. In fact, I didn’t turn in my FA form until about a week before I found out. The FA office is extremely accommodating. I was accepted but didn’t learn of my FA situation for another month. Not sure when you’ll find out, but they will definitely accept it. Your application may just be put at the bottom.

Will they accept it by fax?

Yup they accept fax. Fax your docs using this coversheet.

<a href=“Submit My Documents ”>http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/pdf/2010-2011/US-coversheet-taxID-2010-2011-freshman.pdf
;

If you don’t have a fax machine but have a scanner you can use gotfreefax to send your docs.

thanks bangaboo! Did you receive the financial aid you needed though? Being a few days late doesn’t mean you receive no money right? =(

oh and as about upenn, I found out that if I can send in the 2009 tax returns by 3/1 I don’t need to submit the 2008 one by today.

But I still have the same problem with some of my other schools… thanks anyways everyone!

gashergina, haha no it doesn’t affect how much money you get. I got about 1/2 of everything paid for. all good.

Hey guys, do you know if they won’t consider the application because I forgot to send a cover sheet? (I didn’t know about it until I read this)

^As Wowie states above, February 15 is merely the recommended due date. I had intentions of sending it last night, but the server continually kept crashing perhaps due to an influx of procrastinors such as myself. I submitted it at about 2 AM EST on the 16th once the site became fully stable again.

I would also recommend online submission since that is by far the most convenient.

crap. what if i applied rd…is it too late for me now?

no its not! the dates on the website were just recommended “guidelines” although they say its a deadline.

also, if you’re able to send the 2009 tax return forms by 3/1 you did not have to send the 2008 one by 2/15 :)
