so after the open house, any thoughts/ things you saw that will affect your decision?

I'm entirely confused. It's Carnegie Mellon or Cooper. The students' super geeky disposition slightly concerns me although i was very impressed by the faculty at the initial reception. If social ineptness is going to keep me from making very intimate friendships I dont think Coopers the place for me, however, im currently undecided. What did you think?

Hahaha the nerdiness scared you? =P Hi I'm currently a cooper junior. Alright, so we're pretty nerdy. But we are a very tight-knit and social school. All the clubs and sports teams are highly student-run, as are all the social events. Of course we make close friendships here, we see each other every day and you have to work together to survive some of the time. Every major is only about 20-25 students so we grow close to one another.

I'd love to hear more from you. im me if you can @ abrochtsuair

kaitlyn,

I am a parent who attended the reception with my son, a prospective engineering student. Although the Cooper Union student body might fit the general classification of "nerdy", I found the students to be much more engaging than at some other tech colleges we visited.

Although I don't think Cooper Union is the best fit for my son at the present time, I thought it would be a very engaging and challenging place to get a fantastic education.

Good luck to all.

I was there too, so I may have seen of you people there.

As of now, I'm still deliberating between Cooper and Cornell.

Just not sure where to go!

darkestsith6, what did you think?

I went a few weeks ago and came away not so much "impressed" as i was "interested." its definately my number one pick atm, though my chances are as good or as slim as anyone else's. I wish more student work had been on display.
