<p>Oreintation was amazing. </p>
<p>I went alone, drove the 5 hours alone.</p>
<p>The stay was a nightmare though, I got a terrible cold from the dorm being so freezing cold. My dormmates and I were soooooo very cold and all got sick. All the walking made everyone sore and not to mention that tallahassee is extremely hot.</p>
<p>Besides that;</p>
<p>Everything else was amazing. The oreintation leaders were amazing, the seminars. All the information helped me alot.</p>
<p>Registered for summer classes, English and Math. Got introduced to our department and also dean of undergrad affiars.</p>
<p>I miss it, I can't wait to go back in exactly one month. </p>
<p>I def need to remember a thick blanket, and a water bottle.</p>
<p>I am glad you felt the orientation was fun and informative. It is nice to hear you are enthusiastic about starting college next month. I know my own son is looking forward to returning in the Fall. He is taking 2 classes as a transient student at the community college but wishes he was back in Tally already. You will be a lot more comfortable when you have all the comforts in your own dorm room and can adjust the thermostat to your liking.</p>
<p>Not an uncommon reaction - lots of walking, but you quickly get used to it and become more fit. </p>
<ul>
<li>You need clothing for the seasons in Tallahassee, it may be 40 degrees in the morning and 80 in the afternoon.
<strong>Remember to drink more water; lots more water. Not Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew or the other sugary stuff. All the walking means you must be better hydrated. Pre-hydrate...drink before you get thirsty; like the night before.
<em>Buy an umbrella and a workable backpack that is water-resistant. In summer, there are thunderstorms and it rains like heck.
</em></strong>Make sure your computer it fairly new and in tip-top shape. Buy the security lock and lock it to your desk. Have a protective carrier for it.
**Have a cell phone. Get a durable one that can survive if it gets rained on or dropped.</li>
