Accepted

SAT: 2140 first time (740 M, 730 W, 670 R), 2040 second time (they all went down) [not submitted]
SAT IIs: 690 Bio, 650 World History (took these in 10th grade) [not submitted]
GPA: 3.8 UW (we don't weight, so I'm not sure what it is weighted)
Rank: School doesn't rank
Other stats: ACT: 35 (36 E, 36 M, 35 S, 34 R, 32 E/W) [submitted]

Essays: Were fairly strong. Wrote one about religion, and the other about journalism
Teacher Recs: Very good. Sent in three from my three AP teachers, who have all had me for at least three years, as well as some EC activity.
Counselor Rec: Good.
Hook (if any): Legacy

State or Country: NY, USA
School Type: Public, miniscule (around 600 K-12, 55 in my class, which is considered big)
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male

Other Factors: Leadership positions + EC's. Captain varsity basketball (12), captain varsity football (12), Captain JV basketball (10), class VP (9), class president (11), student council president (12), NHS two years, Journalism reporter and editor, Mathletics, held same job throughout 9th grade (summer + school year)

General Comments: I met with the dean twice, and she had some advice for me that I'll share. They have no preference at all between ACT w/ writing and the SAT I and SAT IIs, so submit whichever one you do better on. If you're deferred, don't worry about it. They have a cap on how many students can be accepted ED, so they could just have an access of qualified candidates. Doesn't mean by any means that your application was worse or weaker than anyone else's.

and no, I wasn't expecting to get in. I thought I'd be deferred.

For D2:

Decision: ACCEPTED!
