Post When you find out

The deferral letter said that they had 6887 Early Action applications and that 30% were deferred to regular admissions. Does anyone know what percentage were rejected? What percentage were admitted?

I was wondering the same thing. They say they only reject those who are clearly not competitive for admission, so I would think that the number rejected would be pretty low. Does that mean those of us who got deferred have a nice chance of getting in come April? Because if they only deferred 30%...

Son accepted! OOS, 3.3 gpa, 1300 SAT, lots of ECs. Haven't visited the campus yet. Thinking about going for the feb. 16 CHOICES program. Very exciting!!

Does anyone know the deal with why it doesnt say our major on the acceptance letter.

in....
3.8 weighted gpa
1330/1600 SATS
lots of honors/APs
lots of EC
OOS

i was also wondering about which major i am in..it didnt say....

jamesnew:
haha thanks...i thought that too. oh well.
jmu punched me in the face via the Internet...
but i have no desire to go there. great school, don't get me wrong...it's just not for me.

good luck to those who DO have their hearts set on JMU!

Anyone going to the CHOICES open house on Feb. 16th? I'm so excited!

Also, my letter didn't say anything about my major. Maybe the mailed letter will have the information?

My son will probably go to the Feb. 16th CHOICES program. Was also wondering about the major info. I'm assuming that info will come in the mail.

I think I will go to the choices on feb 16th because I think it's a holiday so I get the day off from school...

HMM excellent attitude...

My son just received his acceptance in the mail, and it still doesn't say anything about his major. Anyone else puzzled by this? Do we just assume he was accepted to the program he applied to as his first choice?

Mom2009-
yes. he will be in his first choice major unless he applied as a music major, which is a separate application process, or something like nursing, which you apply for during your sophomore (?) year.
