Post you Stats...and let students tell you if you have a chance

Well, I created this post, in order to let other students tell you if you have a chance into UCF...
I'll start with mine

G.P.A: Unweighted: 3.4
Weighted: 3.91
Current Courses: AP Calculus, AP European History, College Algebra/Pre-Calc, Spanish IV, Physics Honors and English IV Honors

Spanish Honor Society Vice-President
Science Honors Society Ex-VicePresident, Current Historian
Principal Student Advisory Committee Member
Mu Alpha Theta Tutor, or Math Tutor
SAT: low score but retaking it
ACT: 20 OUCH!!..

what do you guys think?

Get that ACT score up, should be good!

Did you pass any previous AP exams?

Unweighted: 3.275(Will slightly raise by the time i apply during senior year.)
Weighted: 3.3(Will go up during senior year by the time i apply. I’m taking 5 honors classes so its bound to go up by something.)

SAT: Math-780 Reading-690 Writing-620 Total-2090
Would the ACT help even though i have the SAT? Do they accept subject tests and if so will it help by a lot?

6 honors, 5 in senior year. No AP’s. Large upward trend in grades between sophomore and junior year.

300 hours of community service by the time i apply. Will try to join two honor societies. Mu Alpha Theta and the Science Honor Society. Will attempt to find a job over the summer and carry it into Senior year.

Good Essay writer. Very persuasive and descriptive with good sentence and paragraph structure but I lack an excellent vocabulary. I have an average one but not a great one.

Extras:
In State. No connections. Live about 3 hours away but will live on campus. I’m a like-able guy so good letters of recommendations. First generation student.

May someone please tell me my chances and what i can do to increase my chances? If you need any extra information please ask.

Sounds good, your SAT scores will get you in for sure…at least that’s what I think! Good luck!

those are good stats…when did you apply?..

I am getting my AA from a community college this by the end of summer with so far a 3.6 what are my chances. I know I’m not guaranteed admission to the school of my choice. Any ideas?

Jduran9, I think you have a shot at summer term, but not fall.

And for Tiger, not only do I think you will get accepted, but perhaps with a good scholarship also. UCF seems to prefer a high test score over a high GPA. But to be on the safe side, bring up that GPA because you might get deferred if it falls too low.

Just my opinion though!

Like mizzxvii and torioreo were kind of saying, you can get in for summer most likely! Just raise the ACT scores to probably a 22, my friend that had a 20 on the act and similar stats got deferred…so just take it one more time, good luck ;)
