I think it'd be interesting at the least to see students' PSAT scores and state as the scores come in.

typical2015, that would be great. And if people could post their percentiles, that would also be interesting. I know in past years people wanted to know how low a score was still in the 99th percentile in order to try to predict what score was needed for NMSF. In some states, you have to be pretty high up in that 99th percentile to make NMSF.

I guess I’ll start out:
PA, 220, 99th percentile

typical…Congrats on a great score!! Our D2 is still waiting on her score from her counselor. Would you happen to know now many questions you missed in each section and what sub-score that gave you?

Here’s a link to College Board’s info for the 2013 PSAT. The curve is listed as well as correct answers.

Thanks YB!!

YB’s link is a much more comprehensive answer, but for what it’s worth I had -1 reading for a 79, -2 writing for a 74, and -4 math for a 67.
and thanks!

NJ, 237, 99th percentile on the Oct 16th PSAT with 79 for CR, 78 for M, and 80 for WR

This link does not work for me for some reason.

Here it is again.

NC, 225, 99th percentile on October 19th PSAT.

CR 70, M 75 (one wrong!), W 80

IL, 237, 99th percentile

CR 79, M 80, W 78

Louisiana, 227 (75 C 75 M 77 W), 99th percentile

216, NC, 99.

Not sure if I’ll make it.
It’s going to be close but this test was harder than previous years and the curve was generous…

Maybe the cutoff will be lower? What do you think?

GA, 219

CR 73 / M 68 / R 78

how did i get a 68 on PSAT math, haha usually i knock it out

GA, 216, 99%.
71 CR, 71 Math, 74 Writing.
Feedbacker, I do better on math as well, I only missed 2 on the SAT, but missed 3 on PSAT. Writing is usually my lowest score but for some reason it was the highest.

NH, 215, 99%
80 CR, 67 Math, 68 Writing
Crossing my fingers for the merit! NH cutoff has been around 215 in the past…
Also, does anyone know the national cutoff for 99%? Just curious.

NY, 226, 99th percentile
CR 74 / M 78 / W 74

I am extremely relieved and happy right now haha

I did so bad on the 2013 PSAT. 71 CR, 55 M, 60 W (186 total) in PA. I really didn’t raise my score at all. Freshman year I scored an abysmal 130/140 (or something like that) and then I jumped to 177 in sophomore year. Wow, I feel like an epic failure (I spent so much of my free time studying and I’m going to get nothing in return.

My homeschooled 8th grader got 185 (CR 62, Math 65, Writing 58) in Texas. I’m pleased, this score was needed to apply to an out of district high school. He scored very close to his sister at the same age and she was accepted so I feel his score will be enough to get him in too. He has a few years to work on improving his score for NM.
